Upstaging her daughter? Mother of the bride Kris Jenner was spotted just before the wedding ceremony in a strapless Vera Wang gown with an over-the-top bow

Kim Kardashian has said 'I do' to her basketballer beau Kris Humphries in a beautiful sunset ceremony attended by her A-list friends.

The couple tied the knot at 6.30pm in a thirty-minute service watched by their families, and celebrity guests including Ryan Seacrest, Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria, Venus and Serena Williams, Avril Lavigne and Demi Lovato.

Kim's spokesperson revealed the bride wore an ivory custom-designed strapless Vera Wang gown with full tulle skirt, basque waist and hand-pieced Chantilly lace appliqué on the bodice and 'epic' train.

Covert operation: Members of the bridal party including ring bearer Mason and the groom's sister Kaela follow behind Kim, who was protected by large umbrellas as they make their way to the ceremony

E! - the network behind the Kardashians' reality shows - reported that the bride wore her hair up and off her face.

Her veil remained off her face for the walk down the aisle with step father Bruce Jenner, and included a jeweled headpiece with diamonds that 'dripped on to Kim's forehead,' according E! Online.

She wore Guiseppe Zanotti shoes, and exchanged weddings rings with Kris designed by her good friend Lorraine Schwartz, who also designed her stunning engagement ring.

It's time! One of the bridemaids, believed to be Kourtney, heads to the covered walkway to commence her walk down the aisle

Kim has two more wedding dresses, both also designed by Vera Wang, to change into throughout the reception.

And it looks as though her mother Kris Jenner may have made an effort to upstage the bride in her own Vera Wang-designed dress.

Kris was spotted talking to staff on the grounds before the wedding wearing a strapless white gown with an over-the-top bow across the bodice.

Dessert for 440 guests: The ten-tier black and white wedding cake is put in place inside the enormous marquee

Here comes the boss! Kardashian producer Ryan Seacrest and his girlfriend Julianne Hough waved as they arrived

And it appears that Kardashian looked to the biggest wedding of the year - William and Kate's - for inspiration for her bridal party.

Kim's co-maids of honour Kourtney and Khloe and bridesmaids Kendall and Kylie Jenner and Kris' sister Kaela wore ivory gowns described by E! as 'very Pippa (Middleton)'.

Kris, 26, wore a white peak lapel tuxedo jacket, black tuxedo pants with white tuxedo shirt and white bow tie by Ermenegildo Zegna.

Designated driver: Ciara drove herself to the ceremony

Peekaboo: Kim's former Dancing with the Stars partner Mark Ballas, who is rumoured to have choreographed the couple's first dance - arrived with Cheryl Burke

According to wedding guests, Kris whispered to his groomsmen, included his new brothers-in-law Rob Kardashian and Lamar Odom, 'I'm nervous' as he arrived at the alter, E! reports.

The order of service included an emotional tribute to Kris Humphries late grandparents and Kim's late father Robert Kardashian.

Kim wrote: 'I so wish my dad could be here today to walk me down the aisle. But I know in a way he is here, and I feel his loving presence all around me. I love and miss you, dad.'

Excited: Groom Kris Humphries makes his last tweet as a single man before his wedding to Kim Kardashian

A near-stumble as co-maid of honour Kourtney walked down the aisle holding her son and ring bearer Mason caused a gasp from the guests.

She steadied herself, though, and little Mason zoomed down the aisle ahead of her.

Guests at the wedding were treated to high security measures including metal detectors and having their phones and cameras taken away.

Coveted invite: The 440 guests were greeted by lavish decor and uniformed waiters offering cocktails as they arrived

Monochrome: Guests stuck to the black and white dress code requested by the bride

Invite only: Guests arriving on the buses clutched their wedding invitations as they were driven into the property from the Montecito Country Club

But the same rules clearly don't apply to the groom, who found time to tweet his excitement mere moments before arriving at the alter.

Minutes before the 6.30pm sunset ceremony, Kris Humphries wrote on his Twitter page: 'This is it!'

The bride and groom have enjoyed spectacular weather for their big day, with the sun setting over a cloudless sky as they said their 'I Do's'.

Congratulations! Fans lined the streets cheering as the celebrity guests arrived

Friends of the bride: Kim's good friends Simon Huck (left) and Jonathan Cheban (wearing black) were pictured at the Four Seasons hotel before the ceremony

Guests began arriving at the wedding venue 90 minutes before the ceremony in blacked-out shuttle buses.

The bridal party and family parties have been ensconced at the sprawling estate for hours getting ready.

Bride-to-be Kim Kardashian left the Four Seasons hotel at 12.30pm to make a short drive to the Montecito venue.

Here comes the groom: Kris Humphries emerged separately after the girls departed - he jokingly asked brother-in-law Rob whether to sport a mustache or not

Dressed in a casual white outfit, Kim was make-up free and hiding behind a pair of shade.

Also spotted with her as she made her hotel exit was mother Kris Jenner and sister Kourtney, who along with Khloe is her co-matron of honour.

While Kourtney had hinted that the bridesmaids will be wearing shades of green, some outlets are also reporting that they will be wearing ivory.

Family affair: Kourtney Kardashian held a large garment bag, likely holding her bridesmaid dress, while brother-in-law Lamar Odom arrived

Captured on camera: Kim is still to be transformed into blushing bride. She will say 'I do' at a lavish ceremony in nearby Montecito, California

She will be given away by step-father Bruce Jenner, who was pictured arriving in chauffeur-driven car with Kim's brother Rob.

The California Highway Patrol have been brought in to keep traffic flowing around several closed roads.

It also comes as a big pay day for Kim. U.S. magazine People has bought the rights for the exclusive photographs for a cool $1.5m.

Add to that her fee for the television footage, which will be aired by the E! network in a two-part special.

No prying eyes! A covered walkway will protect Kim's wedding dress from being revealed and putting her lucrative magazine deal and TV special in jeopardy

Celebrity guests expected today include Eva Longoria, Demi Lovato, Serena Williams, Kelly Osbourne and Ryan Seacrest at the lavish affair.

Lindsay Lohan arrived in Santa Barbara last night ahead of the wedding, while Longoria tweeted her excitement, writing: 'So excited for @kimkardashian wedding tomorrow!'

Other rumoured but less likely attendees include Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum and Kanye West.

It emerged yesterday that Kim was forced to cut 50 people from her overflowing list, according to Life & Style magazine.

Some of the cut guests included family members of step-father Bruce Jenner.

The magazine claims that after learning of all the filming equipment that will be inside the venue to shoot the party for Kim's E! wedding special, the fire marshal warned Kardashian to cut down the list.

Kim urged her fans to leave messages on her virtual wedding guestbook, adding: 'Even though you can’t all be there to help me celebrate today, it would mean so much to me if you would sign my ‘Virtual Wedding Guestbook‘ by leaving a comment below!'

Her mother and manager, Kris Jenner, is also very excited and barely got a wink of sleep last night.

Taking to Twitter, she wrote: 'Morning dolls!! Wow @kimkardashian wedding day is finally here! I wanted to sleep in but too excited.'

Kim and Kris have confirmed they will not be honeymooning until next year. Kim was already scheduled to begin filming the second series of Kourtney & Kim Take New York in Manhattan before Kris' surprise proposal in May.

So the couple's first home will be the penthouse suite at the Gansevoort Park Avenue, the NY Post reports.
